A philological study on poisoning of Polygonl Multiflori Radix(ù¼âÏè¡)

Abstract

|
Polygonl Multiflori Radix is in use in Korean medicine. The Korean medical doctors use Bupleuri Radix for nourishing liver and kidney(ÜÍÊÜãì), loosing the bowel to relieve constipation(ëÈíó÷×øµ), clearing away heat and eliminating toxin(ôèæðú°Ô¸), etc. We investigated toxicity, poisoning symptoms, side effects, poisoning treatment and prevention against poisoning of Polygonl Multiflori Radix. The results were summarized as follows£º 1. The main ingredients of poisoning are anthraquinones, such as emodin, chrysophanol, emodin methyl ether, rhein, chrysophanic acid anthrone, etc. The ingredients of poisoning from Polygonl Multiflori Radix mainly can cause stimulating symptoms on digestive system, etc and cause hypersensitive reaction. 2. The representative methods of poisoning treatment in western medicine are promotion of vomiting, washing out the stomach, causing diarrhea, supplies of grape sugar and symptomatic treatment, etc. 3. In order to prevent against poisoning of Polygonl Multiflori Radix, the patients should keep usage, dosage and notes.
